The Chorus Kansas City Spring Concert explored musical expressions of the soul. Included were works from the Sacred Harp tradition, spirituals, and contemporary American composers. The featured work was composer Jake Runestad’s “The Lighthouse Keeper” accompanied by chamber orchestra. The composition, described as an “ode to a dear friend”, is a series of vignettes capturing a life journey of joy, beauty, loss, and renewal. The concert also included performances by Kansas City Chamber Singers and the Lawrence High School Choir.
