The Chorus Kansas City Spring Concert explores musical expressions of the soul. Included are works from the Sacred Harp tradition, spirituals, and contemporary American composers. The featured work is composer Jake Runestad’s “The Lighthouse Keeper” accompanied by chamber orchestra. The composition, described as an “ode to a dear friend”, is a series of vignettes capturing a life journey of joy, beauty, loss, and renewal.
